Corvallis pop-rock quartet "Partly Dave" blends original songs with cover material rooted in the "two-guitars-bass-and-drums" style of the British Invasion. To original melodies reminiscent of groups such as The Lovin' Spoonful or Teenage Fanclub, the band adds a groove-locked rhythm section, both overdriven and acoustic guitars, and vocal harmonies. Listeners will hear songs the band has written. They will also get a dose of wide-ranging influences: from early Kinks to present-day Wilco via The Romantics, for example. Partly Dave's members each arrived in the Willamette Valley by way of stopping points too numerous to mention. In most of these other places they added their instruments and efforts to local-area bands. Fortunately, they have all collided here at the same time. Your ears will like them as much as your feet.
Partly Dave: it's got a beat-you can dance to it.
